Christopher John Francis Boone knows all the countries in the world and their capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. He relates well to animals but has no understanding of human emotions. He cannot stand to be touched. And he detests the colour yellow.
Although gifted with a superbly logical brain, fifteen-year-old Christopher ist autistic and everyday interactions and admonishments have little meaning for him. He lives on patterns, rules, and a diagram kept in his pocket. Then one day, a neighbor's dog, Wellington is killed, and his carefully constructed universe is threatened. Christopher sets out to solve the murder in the style of his favorite (logical) detective Sherlock Holmes.
What follows makes for a novel that is deeply funny, poignant, and fascinating in its portrayal of a person whose curse and blessing are a mind that perceives the world entirely literally.

I simply loved everything about the book: the story, the hero of it, the style of writing... perfect!

The book has been among my "To be released" for a year now. I just couldn't give it up easily... I can imagine though, that it'll find some readers who really like it in the Bookcrossing Village at the Chaos Communication Camp in Finowfurt. So by the end of this week it will be on it's way.
Enjoy! :)

This book is special.
It's a story as seen by an autistic 15-year old, which makes it very different from most other books, and that's interesting. The book is well written which makes it believeable and captivating. This is not a very pleasant or light read, but I liked it very much even though it's hard to explain why. Just try it and see for yourself.

I'm handing the book over to my mother who's interested in reading it.
