This is the second of the Daniel Valentine & Clarisse Lovelace mysteries (the others are "Vermilion", "Slate", and "Canary"). This one's something of a light-hearted romp (for a murder mystery, anyway), which surprised me as "Vermilion" was on the dark side. (Perhaps that's partly due to its being set in snowbound Boston, while "Cobalt" is set in sunny summer Provincetown!) Anyway, Val is spending the summer tending bar and chasing men (and catching quite a few), and Clarisse is easily convinced to come and join him. In her case, however, the first man she stumbles over is dead...

After recent forum discussions (and a timely catch) put laundromats into my head, I decided to release a book or two at this one. The waiting area is quite small, and there were people sitting there, so I didn't want to just plunk the books down on a seat [though it would have been a sensible thing to do]; after looking around a bit, I decided to leave them in the window, on a stack of magazines and books. Guess we'll see if anything happens here...
