I first heard of this book thanks to this copy, one of mojosmom's "Mr. Leather" releases. The book itself sounded interesting, and when I found that it was illustrated by Phil Foglio - whose quirky cartoons enlivened many a D&D gaming magazine and at least one cartoon collection - I had to order a copy.

Later: An enjoyable epistolary novel, with hilarious illustrations - the first one has our hero walking into his apartment to find his roommate naked, on all fours, wearing a collar and leash, with his leather-daddy leaning against the bookshelves reading Lad: A Dog. Hee!

The story's often bittersweet, as when a friend whose doctor says he's dying of AIDS holds a practice wake, so all his friends can meet and feel more at ease when it comes to the real thing. And it's explicitly sexy, what with the various visits to bathhouses and whatnot - and with our hero being unexpectedly touchy about being pissed on while he's whacking off to two other guys pissing on a third {wry grin}.

Lots of laugh-out-loud bits, such as when Sal shows his visiting mother around town - and tries explaining his roommate's slave-status to her. Her reply? "So Tony only gets fucked in the ass then?" You never know what a mom's going to come up with, right?

Sweet, sexy, infuriating, scary, hilarious - definitely worth the read!
