What a lovely surprise gift from calalilly! A book from my wish list by an author that I like very much. I really didn't need a thank you, it's lovely to have the company, and I will be passing it back to you once I have read it so that you can enjoy it too.

What a great book! Very unputdownable. Based in an era that I lived through it is about social issues and attitudes with several story lines running at the same time. In some parts funny and others sad this is another excellent Laurie Graham novel.

Thanks for giving it to me calalilly, it will be back with you very soon.

Another brilliant book by Laurie Graham, that you don't want to come to the end of. Will pass it back to Purplerosebud.

purplerosebud and calalilly both know I am a Laurie Graham fan. Thanks for passing this on to me. I may have to read this one very soon, not sure I can resist its pull.....!

A very enjoyable book. I love the way she can describe a character so well just by what the person does or says (or the way they say it).
It was quite a sad story really, but there were some very funny moments too.
Will find a suitable means of passing this on for others to enjoy.

On its way to molekilby, who has won it in the BCUK Extra "G" Swap.

Received today from StoryChaser, many thanks. I read Ten O'Clock Horses by this author (a StoryChaser bookring I believe), and enjoyed it. Hoping I will do the same with this tome.

I do enjoy the humour and wit of Laurie Graham and this is no exception. This is where I have to confess to reading it in March and only journalling now, so it may be a little patchy! (sorry!). The characters were well put together and you can picture them very easily in their actions and appearance. Well put together and an interesting look at prejudice and reaction to different circumstances.

This has found a new home and will be sent there soon.

Won in an online swap, and as I recently read my first Laurie Graham, which I enjoyed very much, I'm looking forward to this. Thanks for sending it on, molekilby.

Really enjoyed this, and like purplerosebud, it's my era too, so I recognised so much. I enjoy Laurie Graham's characters and her humour very much.
