Journal Entry 1 by darkpunkangel from Barrie, Ontario Canada on Saturday, July 01, 2006
Got this at a garage sale for 25cents. "Settling into her new life as a private forsenic consultant, Kay Scarpetta agrees to investigate a cold-case in Louisiana-the baffling eight-year-old murder of a women with history of blackouts and violent outbursts. Then she receives news that chills her to the core: Jean-Baptiste Chandonne-the vicious and unrepentant Wolfman, who pursued her to her very doorstep-has asked to see her. From his cell on death row, he demands an audience with the legendary Dr. Scarpetta. With her friends and family by her side, Scarpetta tries to guess what sort of endgame this madman has in mind-how, if at all, it's related to the Louisiana case-and then confronts the shock of her life: a blow that will force her to question the loyalty and trust of all she holds dear..."

Journal Entry 5 by aneca on Friday, September 29, 2006
Well I have already finished it. In my opinion it had too much time dedicated to the villains and too little time dedicated to Scarpetta investigating murders. I also didn't like the fact that Benton is alive and everyone else knew it except Kay, it just doesn't seem right! I'm waiting for the next bookcrosser's adress so I can send it on. Thanks for sharing!

Journal Entry 7 by Bookworm-lady from Madrid, Madrid Spain on Thursday, March 01, 2007
I really liked it. This is my second Scarpetta novel, so I know a little more about the characters. The first one was a bit confusing, as there is a whole cast we are supposed to know. I was also pleasantly surprised that Ms Cornwell spared us many potential gory scenes... Good for her! In my opinion, what we imagine can be scarier... Thanks for sharing! Sent today to Jaycee1972 in England; sorry I took so long, but TBRs kept piling up...

Journal Entry 10 by Jaycee1972 from Belper, Derbyshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, March 28, 2007
Finished the book and sent a pm to Hawkette whose profile says they are in Aus by the way, not the UK as the list above says. I enjoyed the book but not as much as I have the other scarpetta books. I found it a bit disjointed and agree with a previous reader that it wasn't quite right for everyone else to know Benton was alive and not Kay. I am not sure how realistic this was. All the same I appreciate the chance to read it so thanks to darkpunkangel for sharing.

Journal Entry 14 by toyjoy on Wednesday, July 23, 2008
I was rather disppointed with the ending for Jay & Bev, it was cut off quite abruptly (what & how really happened to them what kind of ending was for them?), & what happens to the wolfman??? Not a good ending. Had ask for clawdette's contact. 28/07/08 The book was sent to clawdette on friday by surface mail.
