Picked up primarily as it will help with my A-Z reading challenge, but it looks a fun, light-hearted read.

Who'd have thought a book about the applications process for nursery schools could be so entertaining?! But entertaining is exactly what this book is. There's more schmalz than an Oprah cake and a predictable love interest; but there's also some laugh-out-loud funny bits (the four year old "congregating" his verbs made me giggle, as did the bull's eye bikini topiary) and lots of eyebrow-raising at the antics of rich Manhattanites desperate to get their children into a top tier school. Getting a toddler's eyebrows waxed so she's more appealing to the admissions tutors? That's nothing compared to spray-tanning a white child in order to make her appear African American and thus fulfil a school's "diversity quota" ...
As I thought it would be, this was a fun read. :)
