Box is here!! I love bookboxes:) Affinity, it looks like the box is coming home next. I'll drop you a PM, but if you could send me your address, it'll be on its way back to you Saturday (10/21). Rather than list the books, I'll let some be a surprise to you. I'm taking out 3, replacing with 4 to get the number of books back to the starting number of 17. Thanks so much for this wonderfully mysterious bookbox:)

Journal Entry 16 by affinity4books from Bryan, Texas USA on Monday, November 6, 2006
Wooohoo!! My first bookbox to make it safely home! I received it last week but was gone over the weekend and so couldn't journal until now. Thank you all so much for being great participants! :) I think only 2 of the books I originally put in made it back to me. I'm looking forward to some new mysterious reading ahead. I may do another round in a few months and will contact you all then to see if you want to join in. Thanks again!

Thank you sooooooooo much, affinity4books!

Journal Entry 20 by Minerva101 at Calgary, Alberta Canada on Saturday, July 9, 2011
Well - I have had a fun week with this box, going through them and trying to narrow down which ones to pick and which ones to leave in :)
I did list all of the books that arrived in the box in the journal that was included - there were 33 books all together not including the journal.
I have chosen 10 books and replaced them with 10 books - all of which are listed in the journal.
It was a wonderful selection - thank you sooooo much, affinity4books!!!
I am passing this bookbox along to rureading tomorrow at the Calgary Bookcrossing meeting at the Joshua Tree Cafe.

The box is now on its way to bookpatch in California.

Journal Entry 27 by bookpatch at Lakewood, California USA on Sunday, September 11, 2011
Bookbox arrived today--woo hoo! I'm giving it a "10" rating--it's fabulous. I see the works of several authors I'm familiar with and lots of new ones that look very interesting!--and that's the perfect mix as far as I'm concerned.

By the way, I guess it's true there is no such thing as an original idea. There are now *two* yes *two* books in this box where the poor victim drowns in a vat of milk.
Well, they say even Shakespeare was basically re-writing familiar stories...

Will journal again when the box moves on to NM Reader. Thank you for including me!

It's home! A BIG thank you to all the participants who helped it along its journey! This box left home with 33 books and came home with 45. I see a few I have read before but I don't think any that started in the box came back home. I will journal individual books tonight after my 1.5 year old is asleep or tomorrow. I added a oicture of him "helping" me unpack the box.

I plan to do another round in a month or so since this was so successful. Thanks again for being such fabulous bookcrossers!

Box received safely today. I've started to look thru it already and will update later with my choices. Thanks for starting this great box, Affinity4books!

Journal Entry 42 by wingmaryzeewing at Taneytown, Maryland USA on Sunday, July 29, 2012
Wow, lots of good books here! I've been looking forward to this box for a while now, and I really enjoyed it. I'd saved 15 books to put in, but wasn't bothered about finding that many to replace them (it isn't as if I'm exactly hurting for books to read ;) But don't you know, I came up with 14 to take out, without much difficulty at all ;)

Here are my choices...
Took from the box -
A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax
Classified as Murder
Cutwork
The Body in the Library
Untitled
Out of Circulation
The Moai Murders
A Rare Benedictine
Curiosity Thrilled the Cat
Murder Well-Done
The Body in the Cast
A Streetcar Named Expire
Dead Canaries Don't Sing
Truffled Feathers

Put into the box -
Camomile Mourning by Laura Childs
Blood Orange Brewing by Laura Childs
Sticks & Scones by Diane Mott Davidson
Chopping Spree by Diane Mott Davidson
Lemon Meringue Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke
Fudge Cupcake Murder by Joanne Fluke
Town in a Blueberry Jam by B.B. Haywood
On What Grounds by Cleo Coyle
Through the Grinder by Cleo Coyle
Death by Deep Dish Pie by Sharon Short
Homicide in Hardcover by Kate Carlisle
The Curse of the Pharaohs by Elizabeth Peters
Wish You Were Here by Rita Mae Brown
Murder at Monticello by Rita Mae Brown
The Hyrdrogen Murder by Camille Minichino

And I've already been in contact with 6of8. We just saw each other at a BC meet last weekend, but she's suggested a trip to the Book Thing next weekend, giving us a reason to meet again to exchange the box. The things I go thru ;) Hope she enjoys the box as much as I did! Thanks for setting this up, Affinity4books!

Journal Entry 43 by wing6of8wing at Baltimore, Maryland USA on Saturday, August 4, 2012
Met MaryZee in Baltimore today and picked up the box from her. Of course, we couldn't go alllll the way to Baltimore and not stop at The Book Thing for more books while we were there. Mary did much better than I did at limiting her selection, but I take comfort in the thought that most of the ones I picked up are destined for wild release.

She said to me that she had pretty much vetoed all the British mysteries when making her selection from the box because "you have to have some sort of criteria for making a selection." I didn't really understand her comment until I saw the size of her list. Wow! I think I might have 4 or 5 saved up -- have to go dig those out next.

I have sent a PM to Rhonder for her mailing info, so that this can be headed for Wild Rose Country (Alberta) shortly.

After 12 participants and abou4 6 months, the box is safely home. Thanks to all who joined in the fun and took such good care of the box! I will make individual journal entries soon. Will probably be ready to do another round in a few months if there is enough interest.

I'm ready to start this up again, as a shrinking box this time since I need more shelf space :) I should be able to start with at least 30 books and each person can take out 1-2 more than they put in. If anyone is willing to ship to Canada, I'd be happy to include our Canadian cozy readers too.

Please let me know if you want to join the next round.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Thanks for sharing this box!

Journal Entry 66 by Stephario at Decatur, Alabama USA on Wednesday, November 27, 2013
Thanks eponine38 for getting this box to me. I'm sorry for not journaling sooner...I've actually had the box a few days but didn't know it because the mail carrier actually put the box on my front porch and didn't bother to ring the doorbell. It must have been a new carrier because all the carriers that are regulars for this area KNOW to deliver to my garage. Nine chances out of ten, unless it's snowing or something (which it doesn't often do in north Alabama), one of us will be in the garage anyway.

Anyway, I've finally made my selections...I just need to physically write in the green journal. I've chosen the following books:

- Dead Canaries Don't Sing, by Cynthia Baxter
- Death in Daytime, by Eileen Davidson
- Buried in a Book, by Lucy Arlington

I'll be replacing them with the following:

- Woof at the Door, by Laura Morrigan
- The Cat Who Played Brahms, by Lillian Jackson Braun
- The China Governess, by Margery Allingham

Because these three books are somewhat smaller in thickness than the three I took out, I'm adding Going Organic Can Kill You, by Staci McLaughlin, as well.

I should hopefully get this box out to Ollie1976 today, 11/27/2013, but if my plans go awry, as they often do, it'll be Monday, 12/02/2013, when I can ship it out. But I promise, I'll do my best to get this out as soon as I possibly can.

Thanks for including me in this bookbox! I had a blast going through all the books, although I think Mr. Stephario almost had a heart attack thinking all those books were for me! (He doesn't understand the concept of bookboxes yet.) Mr. Stephario will definitely have a fuss when I tell him he has to take the box to the post office! {grin} Thanks so much. I hope to be able to participate in the next round too!

It's home again after about a 7 month journey this time. I hope to journal all the returning books this weekend. It doesn't look like it shrunk much thanks to always generous book crossers. I will journal again when I'm ready to send it our again to see if you want to join the next round :)
