I liked the first in the series 'Shakespeare's Landlord' and have now got hold of this book too! This is the 3rd in the series and once I get hold of a copy of the 2nd in the series (it isn't for sale :/) I will read this one.

I will trade/relay or release this when I am done with it.

Journal Entry 2 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Wednesday, December 20, 2006
I finally got the 2nd book in the series last week and read it straight away. Then I just couldn't wait much longer to read this one! Of course it nearly being Christmas it was a must :)

I have to say this was really really good. It was so good to finally meet Lily's family. It was also great to see her relationship going so good!

A great plot and I still wasn't sure who it was until the last minute. Charlaine Harris made a really good series here and I can't wait to read the next 2 books. I wonder if she will write anymore? Lily and Jack did make a cameo appearance in the latest 'Sookie Stackhouse' book.

Journal Entry 3 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Wednesday, December 20, 2006
This book will be going on a trip as a Bookring. It will be part of a Book sprial for the whole series. This is book number 3!

------------------------------

Please make a journal entry as soon as you recieve the book and also when you send it to the next person. Then we know where the book is!

Please try and read and send this book on within a month. If you need longer please make a new journal so we know the book is still in action!

When you are finished with the book please PM the next person on the list and ask for their address so you can send it on to them!

I would appreciate a PM from any participant who wants to leave the ring or be skipped for any reason. Please do not leave it to the last minute.

Also let us know what you thought of the book but don't give too much away!

The order may change to accommodate for the postal preferences of the ring members.
Lastly if you have nicer bookcrossing labels or stickers then decorate the book a little! Also stick a postcard from your country in with a message! Could be fun :)

Journal Entry 5 by AgnesXNitt from Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, January 17, 2007
Wow, I really flew through this, the 3rd Lily Bard novel in less than a day! This books really do have a film noir feel about them. I have Jack down as a Bogart kind of character, with the lazy vocal inflection I find quite attractive. I look forward to the next chapter in Lily's adventures.
PMing Sunlightbub for her address to post these on. And thanks again Amberkatze!

This is a great follow-up to Shakespeare's Champion. At first, I was a little apprehensive about this book as I thought it would be one of those tacky obligatory stories that authors pump out for Christmas. I am pleased to say that it was most certainly not. I remember that I wasn't really impressed with the murder mystery in the very first book, but with books 2 and 3, I thought Charlaine Harris has crafted two excellent murder mysteries. I think I enjoyed Shakespeare's Christmas just a tad more because previous history wasn't required to follow the case in this book. I'm definitely warming to the series, and I can't wait for books 4 and 5!

PS. For those who follow the Sookie Stackhouse series as well, it is pretty obvious what happens to Lily and Jack. As Amberkatze mentioned, they make a guest appearance in Dead as a Doornail. I'm not sure if Charlaine Harris covers it in the later books in the Lily Bard series, but if you're dying to know what becomes of them, you will have to read the book!

Arrived today! Thanks so much for sending it from Australia. I am really looking forward to reading it.

Journal Entry 12 by NeedSun from Perth Road, Ontario Canada on Sunday, April 15, 2007
The murder mystery in this book was the best yet. In the first two, you pretty much knew what was going on and there were few surprises. In this one, I was kept guessing until the very end and I admit, what I suspected was totally wrong. I love that.

All I can say is OH MY GOSH.... after reading leeny37's post (which I always wait to do until after I read the book). I have the last two books in the Sookie Stackhouse series to read since I was so backlogged with bookrings. Now I don't want to read them until I read all of this series since Jack and Lily appear in them. I don't want to know what happens with them even though I have my hopes. Thanks you for mentioning this!

These two books will get into the mail to Cherie early next week. I'll edit this post with the actual date.

Edit April 18: Sent by air today

Books 2 and 3 of the Lily Bard series arrived on Saturday, while I was in Charleston at the BC convention, along with another Stephanie Plum book from NeedSun.

Since I'd put a lot of my owed and ring books on hold in order to get stuff read to bring to the convention, it may be a month or so before I can start on these.

Journal Entry 14 by CheriePie from Campbell, California USA on Sunday, June 17, 2007
Another great entry in the Lily Bard Mystery series. In this one, Lily travels home during the holidays to be a bridesmaid in her sister's wedding, and of course trouble follows her... as does her sexy new boyfriend Jack! ;)

We learn a bit more about Lily's background in this one as she stays with her family during her homecoming. This is really the first time she's been home since the incident which scarred her both physically and emotionally.

I'm looking forward to reading more of this series! Thanks for sharing them Amber! :) These should be on their way to krin shortly.

This arrived along with "Shakespeare's Champion", which is next on my list to read. Hmmm...Christmas in July?! We'll see...

Journal Entry 21 by Maurean from Atlantic Beach, Florida USA on Friday, August 3, 2007
Once again, I am left to say that I agree with the previous readers; this was, indeed, the best "mystery" in this series so far, and once again, Ms. Harris has me anxiously looking forward to the next installment! (Altho - I am lost on the Sookie Stackhouse reference. I read "Dead as a Doornail so long ago, I don't remember Lily & Jack at all! May be time for a re-read...)

Anyway...thanks again for sharin' these, Amberkatze. As soon as I receive an addy, these will be on their way! (And, if anybody has a ray/ring going for "Shakespeare's Trollop"??!) Okaaay..so I'm slow on the uptake, and didn't realize this spiral extended beyond this title; as the late great comedianne, Ms. Gilda Radner oft said..."Nevermind".

on its way to SandDanz in today's (8/17) mail.

Journal Entry 22 by SandDanz from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Monday, September 10, 2007
Sorry I didn't journal this sooner, but it has arrived. Starting on Shakespeare's Champion today and then will move on to this one. :)
