This book is apparently a continuation of True Believer. i'd better read it soon before I forget what happened in the previous book.

Journal Entry 2 by wingkayjay33wing from Langley, British Columbia Canada on Saturday, June 24, 2006
I didn't like this book as much as some of his others. It is a sequel to True Believer and part of the book I just felt annoyed at the petty quarrels that Jeremy and Lexie seemed to be continually having. But it did get better before the end.

this story had me thinking. Wow what words to put into the story the end is not what I wanted to happen with out given anything away. The last 27 pages were very sad and I can see how jeremy would feel about what happen. The ending is sweet, but still I wanted to cry.

the beginnning of the book I was getting bored thinking humm nicholas sparks has written better books. But he did turn the book around and made it good. I think a movie would be good from this story...I would think it to be a teary story.
I don't like the way Alvin a friend of Jeremy did to Jeremy that was so wrong and mean. No more said...read the book but make sure you have tissue near by towards the end.
This book is going to goaliegirl.

Didn't love this book. I loved True Believer but found this one to be lacking in that. It wasn't the same as the rest of his books. So far, I think that this is my least favorite book of his that I've read.

Mailed to valentina1209 today.

Journal Entry 10 by valentina1209 from Bethpage, New York USA on Tuesday, August 8, 2006
Book arrived safely in New York today. I didn't particularly care for True Believer but I have faith in Nicholas Sparks's brillance, so I am hoping this follow-up story is more like his previous books, in that they were more emotionally moving and evoke a stronger connection to the characters than True Believer.

Journal Entry 11 by valentina1209 from Bethpage, New York USA on Wednesday, August 16, 2006
What happened to Nicholas Sparks? :( Like True Believer, this book moved along quickly and superficially, without supporting details to add depth and interest. It didn't draw me into an emotional connection to the characters, and I didn't grow to care enough about them to be moved or saddened by what happened to them in the end. I am not convinced that Jeremy and Lexie were truly in love and belonged together. They seemed so wrong for each other, unable to get along at all. He was unhappy and depressed throughout the story while she was uncompromising and not very likable. It made their relationship and everything else seem meaningless and pointless. I totally understand what compelled Alvin to go to the extremes he did to try and knock some sense into his friend because I found myself just as exasperated with Jeremy.

I am very disappointed. This book, and the one before it, doesn't live up to the high standard Nicholas Sparks set with his previous masterpieces, which moved me to tears and evoked very powerful feelings. The ending of this story came as a relief.

Journal Entry 15 by Mamikaem from Maryland Heights, Missouri USA on Friday, September 29, 2006
Received this last week when I was out of town. Thanks so much! Will get to it as soon as I can.

UPDATE: 11/01/06 - starting this at last!

11/09/06 - I'm about halfway through this. After reading so many bad reviews on this, I decided to lower my expectations from Nicholas Sparks. He's a good writer, but the plot and characters really lack depth. However I am being persistent in finishing this book!

Journal Entry 16 by Mamikaem from Maryland Heights, Missouri USA on Saturday, November 11, 2006
I'm so mad at myself for ending up liking this book! LOL It really dragged through the first half and I almost gave it up. Because I'm a writer, I could relate to Jeremy's writer block so I stuck through with it to see where that story line would go. I'm also mad at myself for crying at the ending! I haven't cried at a Nicholas Sparks book since The Notebook.

Mailed on 11/21/06.

I think that I might as well give up on this book ever moving forward. In spite of PM's and a message in the forums, I have had no reply from Kennie2775 .She posted that she recieved the book on Nov 30/06 so I know that it was not lost in the mail.
I'm sorry, Hobbit,Clawdette,Sleepymom, and Tostle.
