A sequel in the Inkheart trilogy - I enjoyed Inkheart so I'm sure this will be just as captivating. A story about books and stories.

I am starting an international bookring for this book. It will remain open even when I've sent it off. If you'd like to join in or change any postal/order preferences, please feel free to PM me. Some quick guidelines before we get started:

1. Please write a journal entry when you receive the book, so we know it's arrived safe and sound.

2. Please try to pass the book along within a month. If you need to keep it longer for any reason, just send me a PM or post a journal entry. I don't want to rush anybody, but I do appreciate being kept in the loop.

Arrived in the post a couple of days ago, but I've had problems getting access to the bookcrossing site...

Anyway, looking very much foreward to reading this - it's next on my list after I finish my current read (though that's kind of thick, so it might take a couple of days).

It was nice to "see" Dustfinger, Farid, Mo and Meggie again, but I somehow didn't get as engaged in the story this time. Still, I'm definitely in line for book 3 - got to see how it all ends!

The book's on its way to bookmaniac70 as of this afternoon.

Started reading.

Well,I missed the real magic of the first book,I confess;the story was interesting but not so absorbing.I was a bit surprised to see Dustfinger in a new light here but I was glad because I didn`t like him very much in the first book. Also I liked the love story between Meggie and Farid. The most interesting for me was the question of creating a life for the characters,of manipulating their destiny,of playing with their feelings. So,Fenoglio was more ambivalent figure in this sequel and seems like he was defeated by the same fiction people he created in his books.

Thanks a lot for the opportunity to read that book,I will definitely be in the line for the third one:-))!

Inkspell arrived safely. Thanks, bookmaniac70 :)
Although I can't wait to read this - there are other rings in the queue as well... I'll try to be fast!

Well - I was really looking forward to read this since I enjoyed reading the first part so much. But in fact I'm somehow disappointed. The story didn't grab me this time and it really took me long to get through it, and now that I finished it I'm not really satisfied with the story at all. I think I will end the trilogy here for myself.
Nevertheless I'm grateful that I had the oppertunity to read this. Thanks :)

--> I will send the book on Monday to the next participant

The book arrived today. Looking forward to reading it. I'll try to pass it along in a timely fashion, but I'm kinda swamped up with readings at the moment. I'll let you know if I need a little longer to finish it. Thank you for this bookring. I loved the first one so I really want to read its sequel.

I'm sorry, I haven't finished this book yet. I've been reading it very slowly but have another one I'm trying to get read first, so I'm going to ask to hold it for a while longer. I promise to try and move it before long, but it's a big book and I'm being a bit of a slow reader lately. But I really want to read this book because I loved the first in the series so much, so I hope the organizer doesn't mind me keeping it with me for a few more weeks. Thanks.

I'm really, really immensely sorry for having retained this book for so long. I've contacted Indygo88 for her address and will be mailing the book this Friday, at long last.

Arrived in my mailbox yesterday! I'm way backed up w/ bookrings currently, so I apologize ahead of time, as I know I'll be keeping this a bit longer than is typical for me. Rest assured, it will get read & passed along....

9/3/07 -- Starting book today.

Looks like I'm with the majority here. I'd have to say I was a bit disappointed with this one. I found that it was along the same caliber as Inkheart -- a great idea, but just not developed as well as it could've been. I was a little surprised when I read all the great Amazon reviews. Perhaps the book loses a little in the English translation (or perhaps that's me wanting to give the benefit of the doubt), but I really thought the writing was not all that great, even if it is directed toward a young adult audience. I did like Dustfinger much better in this 2nd book (his character seemed quite different this time around), but found Elinor very annoying. I was also annoyed by the way many of the characters talked to themselves in a condescending way. Hard to describe, but it did get on my nerves. I thought the ending was kind of rushed also. Overall, the book just left me rather unsatisfied.

However, despite all that, I continue to be a sucker for series books, and I will undoubtedly read the 3rd and last in the trilogy, which I believe is to be titled "Inkdeath".

I've thus far been unsuccessful in getting a reply from esq228. I'll give it another day or two & if I still have no reply, this will be off to MandaJo!

Still no response from esq228, so I'm shipping it off today to MandaJo. Happy travels! :')

This one has been found after much digging and sorting. Now to determine where it should be headed to next... (fabulous book, by the way...)

I love these books. Can't wait for the next one. Have not heard anything from sadogs as to where this should go next. I will wait a while longer before maybe passing it along to someone who has it on their wishlist or sometihng.
