This was a really nice young adult book. I really liked Clare but I wasn't so sure about Mark. He seemed to change personalities a little and it wasn't completely believeable at times. But the story was well told and something that I enjoyed very much.

Clare also feels compelled to take midnight walks in Ravensmere's abandoned China Garden. Then her mother reveals that their own past is tragically linked to the estate.
