Dan Brown may not be the best writer in the world, but he has a knack for storytelling. My husband and I are split on this - I think The Da Vinci Code is the better book, but he liked Angels and Demons better.
Mailing today to Jengif as a surprise RABCK - enjoy!
Angels and Demons arrived in yesterday's mail. Thank you, Cinnamon-Girl so much for the surprise RABCK. I've been meaning to read this book for a long time. The Bookcrossing stickers on it are great and I especially love the triangle shaped bookmark that's near the beginning {--at least I think it's a bookmark--}. I'll read this ASAP and keep it moving on its journey.
Angels and Demons was a very enjoyable book. I thought it was much better than the two other Dan Brown books I've read: Digital Fortress and Da Vinci Code. In fact, Angels and Demons was so fast paced and believable up until the last 30 pages, it was almost perfect. At the very end though, things got just a little bit too complicated and perfection was passed by. Despite this, it was very interesting and enjoyable. While I thought Da Vinci Code was a decent thriller, I never understood what all the hype was about. This book didn't get any near as much attention, but it certainly would have deserved it more.

Received today -- I love the "bibliophil(e" corner!
Thanks so much (and I also appreciate the envelope; I was totally out of this size and I'm gonna recycle this one to mail a bookring off.)

After spending three weeks with this story, I'm eager to visit Rome, stay at the Hotel Bernini, and relax on a balcony with risotto and wine! (just a far-future fantasy).
The scientific buildup about the particle accelerators and antimatter taxed my brain, but I instantly loved the spectacular flying machines!
The camerlengo was a most interesting and well-drawn character -- can't wait to see Ewan McGregor play him (name changed from Italian/Carlo to Irish/Patrick) in the movie.
The ambigrams were very nifty -- created by one "Langdon" -- I also noticed a "Baggia" in the acknowledgements and wondered if Dan Brown used the names of real friends for his characters.
I was telling a friend at work how much I enjoyed this and now she wants to read it. Hope she notices boirina's lovely geometric bookplate in the front!
