5 out of 10

As I began reading this book, I became irritated with all the obvious cliches and stereotypes of Park Avenue mommies used by the authors. While I have no doubt these stereotypes exist in large scale (I mean, that is how we get stereotypes, right?), it initially made the book so predictable.

As usual, though, I continued to read since I don't like leaving a book unfinished. As I plodded through, an actual story began to semi-develop and I ended up spending most of last night with the second half of the book reading to find out what would happen and how the book would end.

All in all, this book is okay. It's far from a must-read and I'm glad I didn't spend my own money on it, but as a kindergarten teacher I was able to relate to Nanny and her love for her charge, as well as the ups and downs of college life.
