Synopsis from Amazon:
Amanda Devereaux has a crazy family. Her mother and older siblings are witches and psychics, and her twin sister is a vampire hunter. All Amanda wants is a quiet, normal life. Only when she finds herself the target of an attack meant for her twin, she wakes to find herself handcuffed to a sexy, blonde stranger. He is Kyrian of Thrace. And while Amanda's first thought is that this might be another of her sister's attempts at extreme match-making, it soon becomes clear that Kyrian is not boyfriend material. He is a Dark-Hunter: an immortal warrior who has traded his soul for one moment of vengeance upon his enemies. Kyrian spends his eternal days hunting the vampires and daimons that prey upon mankind. He is currently on the hunt for a very old and deadly daimon named Desiderius who has deemed it sport to handcuff Kyrian to a human while he hunts him. Now Kyrian and Amanda must find a way to break their bond before they give into their dangerous attraction to one another. Or Desiderius kills them both...

I expected a lot of vampire slaying, sort of Anita Blake with a twist. But there was very little slaying. Some vampires went up into dust, puff, like in Buffy. But they weren't very scary and actually pretty lame. The whole idea of Dark Hunters, Daimons and Apollites I felt to be overly complicated and long winded. There was, however, a lot of very steamy sex. The storyline was minimalistic. So all in all the sex kept me reading, but I was disappointed in the rest. I have books 2 and 3, I will see if it gets better.

Some guidelines: (snatched from Morgaine77)
1. Please journal the book when it arrives (so we know it's safe and sound with you), once you read it (to let us know how you liked it) and when you ship it off (so we know it's on its way to the next reader).
2. Please PM the next person in line before shipping the book off, not only for the address, but also to ask if they are still interested in it.
3. Try not to take longer than four weeks to read the book. But we all understand that sometimes life (and bookrings...) just happens. :-) In that case, please make another journal entry to let us know that the book is not forgotten.
4. Surface shipping is perfectly acceptable.
5. And the most important thing: Have fun!

Journal Entry 7 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Wednesday, August 23, 2006
Thanks sally906 for sending this to me and thanks to cathepsut for the ring!

I am a little confused about a postcard in the book...it is from me...and it is from one of my bookrings...so how is it in this book????

Also great Cross Stitch Bookmark! I guess it has to stay with the book so can someone tell me where the pattern is?

Anyway this book is going to be started today although I am not sure when I will finish it as I have family arriving tonight so the next week is going to be hectic!

Journal Entry 8 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Sunday, August 27, 2006
I loved this book! I actually finished it a few days ago but things have been hectic here! I really don't know how I managed to find the time to read this but I was so addicted that I was snatching every spare minute!

I loved the Greek mythology tie in...loved the characters...the family...everything really!

What book comes next? Are there any rings for it??? I can't wait!!!!

I have just pm'd the next person on the list and as soon as I have an address and time to get to the post office this book will be on it's way again!

Thanks again for letting me take part!

Journal Entry 9 by vexter from Ljubljana, Osrednja Slovenija - Okolica Ljubljane in Ljubljana Slovenia on Tuesday, September 5, 2006
Of course, bookring books never arrive alone - I've received three in the last few days! So forgive me if it takes me a little longer to read the book. And by longer, I mean "more than 3 days", which is my usual "turnaround" time. :))
But wow, what a collection of bookmarks! I'll have to find a pretty one to add.

Journal Entry 10 by vexter from Ljubljana, Osrednja Slovenija - Okolica Ljubljane in Ljubljana Slovenia on Monday, September 18, 2006
I've read this a couple of days ago, but haven't had the time to journal it. It was a quick, fun read. It's not Nobel prize material, but it's certainly entertaining and saucy enough to keep you up on a rainy evening. ;)

Butterfly-noir asked to be skipped, PMing AgnesXNitt instead.

Journal Entry 11 by AgnesXNitt from Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Saturday, September 30, 2006
Hmmmm, I too hoped for a grown up Buffy with fight scenes, back history, action and a little bit of UST tween characters.
Sadly I was disappointed. Oh well, you don't know if you don't try these things do you?
PMing next BXer for onward transmission...

Journal Entry 12 by Charlieboots76 from Ringwood, Hampshire United Kingdom on Saturday, October 21, 2006
I recieved this book a few days ago but have had computer probs so have been unable to journal. I have two rings to read (they are like busses eh?!) in front of this one but it shouldn't take longer than 4 weeks for me to read. Thanks!

Journal Entry 13 by Charlieboots76 from Ringwood, Hampshire United Kingdom on Friday, November 3, 2006
I really enjoyed this book and finished it quite quickly. I will definately look out for more by this authour when I fancy someting not too serious!

The book is now on its way to sunlightbub, I hope it reaches her before she moves!

Journal Entry 14 by Sunnybubble from Wallasey, Merseyside United Kingdom on Saturday, November 4, 2006
As is always the way, 3 bookrings arrived today..all Vampy ones too!! Will get to this asap.

Journal Entry 15 by Sunnybubble from Wallasey, Merseyside United Kingdom on Friday, December 15, 2006
So sorry for the delay in rejournalling this. I've been off line for a whole month following my move, so that is my only excuse.

I really liked this. It didn't take itself too seriously, but managed to avoid being silly! THe happy medium between Anita Blake and Betsy, IMO!!

I'll be looking out other books in the series.

THanks for sharing xx
I'm pming the next person now!!

Journal Entry 16 by Martyup from San Diego, California USA on Sunday, December 31, 2006
This book arrived sometime while I was home in Colorado for Christmas. I will start reading it either today or tomorrow.

Journal Entry 17 by Martyup from San Diego, California USA on Saturday, January 6, 2007
Thank you for the chance to read this book. I love all things vampire. I am sorry to tell you all that I just did not care for this book. Too much chick lit for me.

I mailed the book to the next person on the list this morning! Happy New Year to all of you!

Journal Entry 18 by Jengif from Greenville, North Carolina USA on Tuesday, January 9, 2007
What great timing! I just finished another book last night and hadn't had a chance to start anything else. This means I can start reading Night Pleasures immediately!

P.S. Everyone has contributed to such a wonderful collection of bookmarks.

Journal Entry 19 by Jengif from Greenville, North Carolina USA on Tuesday, January 16, 2007
This book has me a bit annoyed. I liked both characters - Kyrian & Amanda. I also liked the basic premise.

BUT I could not stand the sex scenes. It was almost like Kenyon wrote the story and then went back and randomly threw in some sex. It was absurd and I'd really rather never again read about hot, throbbing clichés again. I ended having to skip entire pages at a time because I was so ticked off. Suffice to say – I won't be picking up the other books in the Dark Hunter series.

Journal Entry 20 by Jengif from Greenville, North Carolina USA on Monday, January 29, 2007
Well, it looks like I'm going to be holding onto Night Pleasures for a while. Explorer1118m asked to be skipped and Suebo appears to be ill. I'll give Suebo another try in a week or so to see if she' still interested.

Anyway you look at it, I'll make sure Night Pleasures keeps moving!
