Journal Entry 1 by sarradee from Dallas, Texas USA on Sunday, January 14, 2007
Unabridged audio download from Audible, on 11 discs. Book Description Richard Dawkins, whom Discover magazine recently called "Darwin's Rottweiler" for his fierce and effective defense of evolution, now turns his considerable intellect on religion, denouncing its faulty logic and the suffering it causes. He eviscerates the major arguments for religion and demonstrates the supreme improbability of a supreme being. He shows how religion fuels war, foments bigotry, and abuses children, buttressing his points with historical and contemporary evidence. In so doing, he makes a compelling case that belief in God is not just irrational, but potentially deadly.

Journal Entry 2 by sarradee from Dallas, Texas USA on Friday, March 02, 2007
Forgot to make a journal entry when I finished the book. Fascinating arguments on how religion resembles a virus in the way that it spreads. Discusses how the teaching of organized religions can be abusive. For example, if you take a young, impressionable child and convince them if they do anything that god doesn't like they are going straight to hell to burn for eternity it can cause some damage to their psyche. Debunks the fallacy that religion is the only reason that people are good and moral. Dawkins does get a touch militant while proving his points but no more so than the average fire and brimstone preacher. Nice to have an advocate on the atheist side for once.
