read this 2-3 years ago, when my grandaughter was reading and loving the series. Really, really fun and funny!! The story unfolds in Geogia's diary....

the opening:

thursday october 21st
my room
1pm
Looking out my bedroom window, counting my unblessings. Raining. A lot. It's like living fully dressed in a pond.
And I am the prisoner of whatsit.
I have to stay in my room pretending to have tummy lurgy so that Dad will not know I am an ostracized leper banned at Stala-14(i.e. suspended from school). I'm not alone in my room, though, because my cat, angus, is also under house arrest for his love romps with Naomi, the Burmese sex kitten.

this little book seemed like the halfway point between "the secret diary of adrian mole, aged 13 3/4" and "bridget jones's diary". it gave me a few wry giggles, but on the whole, i'm happy to be passing it on to someone else.

i've added it to the lucky-dip satchel that's part of my 3rd anniversary rabck lottery, so it'll be heading out into the world in a few days time.

posted off to crimson-tide (who won the lucky-dip satchel) a few days ago, but i''ve only just been able to journal it (having problems with computer gremlins. grrr)

Thanks cosminx. I've seen this one about on the relays a fair bit lately. Very odd title, but I have a pretty fair idea of what it refers to!! Not sure if it is "me" or not: I did enjoy Adrian Mole (it was a long time ago) and have actually read "Bridget Jones's Diary" to see what all the hype was about (couldn't see it I'm afraid).
We'll see . . .
