Understanding Your Inner Critic may be a more accurate title, as over three-quarters of the book is dedicated to identifying and analyzing the inner critic. Sure, it's important to recognize the critic's voice, to know where it comes from (society? a critical parent? my Self?) and how it operates within you and in your relationships. If you've never carried on a dialog between yourself and your inner critic, you may find the book helpful. As for me, when a 205-page book is titled Embracing Your Inner Critic: Turning Self-Criticism into a Creative Asset, I tend to expect at least some embracing or creative-asseting long before page 175.
