Purchased for 99p as part of a joint Times and WHSmith promotional book offer. I've been curious about this one for a while so I'm glad to have the chance to read it.

I had expected this book to be lighter fare than it was and I enjoyed it all the more for not being light. It was quite Kingslover ish in it's dark visit to Christian Africa and I was yearning for more of a Thorn Birds style moment than I believe I got with the protaganist and her priest.
I stayed in a yurt near Honiton over the late August bank holiday weekend and left a couple of books there for whoever stays next.
