The spellbinding new novel of love and friendship from the Number One bestselling author of THE READING GROUP 'I think you can look at a woman, or talk to her, or listen to her, for five minutes or so, and you know how she'd behave in that situation, and once you have figured that out, you know pretty much what she's going to be like in any situation.' They meet at university in the heady days of the 80s: four women with little in common but an eagerness to live life to the full. And over romantic crises, long gossipy nights and too many bottles of wine, they form the Tenko club and swear they'll always be there for each other. Twenty years later, that promise is put to the test.

Arrived safely a few days ago and I was in such a hurry to read that I forgot to do the journal entry. I wanted to read it before Elizabeth Nobles latest title Alphabet Weekends which had arrived a few days previously and is a Bookring and must therefore not be held up. I am odd maybe in that I prefer if possible to read novels in the order that the author wrote them! I have some authors that I like to keep upto date with, reading new titles as they are published.
I really enjoyed Elizabeth Nobles first novel 'The Reading Group' so was disappointed that this follow up was so weak in comparision. Just a fairly average chick lit read with something lacking. I hope this is just unlucky and that she will find her way again with her latest novel.
I also could not understand why the title 'The Tenko Club' was chosen as after the book started around the members of this so called club, it then went on to focus stongly on just one member, with the other members as supporting characters. So all in all a fairly average read and only worth reading, if like me you like to read all of an authors work.
Thanks so much for your kind RABCK sunlightbub enabling me to read the titles in the right order!! Will get this book travelling again somehow soon.
