Pobby and Dingan are imaginary.Ashmol Williamson, Kellyanne’s brother thinks his sister should grow up and stop being such a fruit loop – until the day when Pobby and Dingan disappear. Sending to Sidney via Mysterious... ;)
Received today. Thank you...
7/5/06 Reserved for Xeyra. Replacing another book that's lost in the mail.
This was a quick read that I was able to finish in 1.5 hours. The description of the book made it sound like a quirky and light read, but it's actually something much sadder and heartwrenching. It's definitely something that will resonate with the readers for at least a little while, despite the short length of the book.
8/17/06 Mailed at the post office today.
It arrived!!! Since seeing this book offered on a swap, I've been curious about it so off it went to my wishlist. It's a very thin book so I am hoping to be able to squeeze it somwhere in my readings and pass it on quickly. Thank you for mailing this to me, Sidney. I'm really looking forward to reading it, and I'm really sorry the other book got lost enroute. I guess the book really is 'in the wild' now...
This was such a sweet little book. I read it very quickly. A simple story that really makes one think. And gives hope too. It's also a sad story, touching and poignant. I actually cried. Considering the book has less than 100 page, it's a testament to its beauty that it managed to grab me and make me feel enough for the characters in so few pages to shed tears for them in the end.
Received today from a recent swap. Thanks Xeyra. I don't think this will stay in my TBR pile for very long.
A quick, sometimes cute, but lacking something, story.
11/17/06 - offered up on bookrelay and accepted by LastMango
Received in today's mailing. Adding to the TBR shelves.
Merry Christmas!!!!
A very touching read. A very different type of story.
AceofHearts had this on her wishlist so off it's gone as a RABCK.
received as a RABCK. Thank you so much!!!!
Kellyanne has two imaginary friends, Pobby and Dingnan. Ashmol, Kellanne's brother, thinks she should just grow up and forget about her friends. One day Kellyanne's father takes her friends to work in his opal mine with him. When he returns home, she asks where they are. Horrors!! They are lost and presumed dead.
Kellyanne starts to wither away from heart sickness and worry. Ashmol concerned for his sister rounds up the whole town to look and try to find his sister's imaginary friends. Ashmol turns his whole attitude around and believes in Pobby and Dingan. Imagine a whole town searching for two imaginary friends :)
A charming story
The Williamson family lives in a town that is run by opal mines. Rex Williamson volunteers to take his daughter Kellyanne's invisible friends to the mine with him so she can go to school. But unfortunately, he forgets to bring them back and Kellyanne is worried sick.
Kellyanne's health deteriorates when Pobby and Dingan cannot be found. Kellyanne's brother, Ashmol, comes up with a plan to help find Pobby and Dingan. This includes getting the entire town to search for Pobby and Dingan!
This was a cute book, although it is a little sad.
mailed today to Azuki who won this in a TBR swap
I remember being vey glad to have won this in the swap. Thanks! Book has arrived safely.
I had some difficulties getting into the tone of the protagonist, but thankfully this is a short book so before I had chance to seriously wonder if I should go on or not, the plot had picked up momentum. It's a beautiful story.
