From the back cover...
Why would a man who loved his wife - so much that in the quarter century since her death, he hasn't found someone to take her place - why wouldn't he have a record of the life he'd had with her, of the baby they'd made?
Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her widowed fater Andrew, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiance, and a job she loves, finding missing persons.
But as Delia plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall. And then a policeman knocks at her door, and her world fractures into something unrecognisable....

Journal Entry 2 by katybean from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom on Monday, March 23, 2009
Well I know it's only March, but this is one of my best reads of the year so far!
I quickly got into the story, and found myself reading late into the night to find out what happened. It did get me thinking, was Andrew right or wrong, and I wasn't sure how the jury were going to go. I did think he got in with the gangs a bit quick though in prison????? (that's not a spoiler by the way!!).
I liked the ending too!

I've never read anything by Jodi Picoult, so it'll be interesting to see what this is like.

First Jodi Picoult for me. Gripping story that got me thinking - did Andrew do the right thing, even though he broke the law. As the mother of three children I think I would have done the same.
