Given to me by my Mum as she's de-cluttering her house.
Synopsis:
June 1940: this was the summer of defeat. Day by day, hour by hour, this work unfolds what men thought and felt and did as France fell. Men who shrugged, men who ran, men who fought and tragic men like Mathieu, riven with remorse, who must somehow learn to kill.

On its way to Sweden as an early Christmas swap!
Book collected from the post office today! Looking forward to reading it!
A good book, easier to follow than book two in the "series" (The reprieve). A new way of looking at the war, and a really close descriotion of the involved persons.
Will go to my permanent collection for now, but may take a spin eventually...
