Just received this in the post today from Lizzybee as a loan. During my masters we studied lots of japanese workplaces, so I'm curious to read this first hand account of life as a salaryman. Thanks :-)
This was such an interesting book! It really explored the different corporate culture of Japan. I really struggled with (to my western eyes) seemingly over-protective / big brother style of Japanese governance. Mr.ncot also read this (declined to actually write anything though, sorry!). He was interested in Japanese culture because he learns aikido and Jui jitsu and he could spot many similarities in culture. He as annoyed by the author though - felt that he repeated himself and was a bit harsh / bleak about the corporate world he found himself in.
Thanks again for the loan Lyzzybee!

I do like a book in the post that's NOT a bookring but a returner!
Thanks for looking after the book, enjoying it and sending it back safely.
This is now going back in the Permanent Collection but is availble for loan to known BCers...

Many thanks for lending this to me, look forward to reviewing it on my book blog. I made a start on it when I was waiting for my web conference to start this morning (multi-tasking that I am not sure a salaryman would approve of...).

Arrived back with me today. The envelope had been opened (or come open) and it was in a bag from the Post Office, apologising for having damaged it. The book is fine, but nothing else with it - so if you put anything else in with it, even a postcard, that's gone.
Thanks for the review and the prompt return!
