Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife

Mary looks at many of the attempts made to discern what happens to us after we die. In the end, science doesn't come to the rescue. She can't really make a decision about the afterlife based on scientific fact or findings, but she does conclude that there are things out there we don't know about and she is inclined to believe there's a possibility of something out there for us after we die. She concludes by saying she believes in ghosts. Along the way, she's very funny, though I didn't like this book half as much as "Stiff". I'm not quite sure why, but the language she used wasn't as accessible to me as in "Stiff". This was probably more science based, never my strong suit. I really enjoy the author's writing style - a little learning, a lot of humor, so I will probably read any subsequent books she writes.
The book arrived today! So grateful you were willing to part with this book, it's in an impeccable condition and I look forward to reading it.
