The Colour of Magic is Terry Pratchett's maiden voyage through the bizarre land of Discworld. His entertaining and witty series has grown to more than 20 books, and this is where it all starts--with the tourist Twoflower and his hapless wizard guide, Rincewind ("All wizards get like that ... it's the quicksilver fumes. Rots their brains. Mushrooms, too."). Pratchett spoofs fantasy clichés--and everything else he can think of--while marshalling a profusion of characters through a madcap adventure.

Thank you, Intry! I am sure I will re-read this myself, but as I told you, the real goal is to finally get my husband introduced to Terry Pratchett and Discworld. Now all he has to do is find the time to read it!

Journal Entry 4 by potok-fan from Turku, Varsinais-Suomi / Egentliga Finland Finland on Monday, July 10, 2006
This book is going with us on our North Sea cruise (Iceland, Faroes, Shetlands, Denmark, Sweden). I hope it will get read during that time, and *might* get released. If so, I'll make release notes once we get back to Finland.

UPDATE: Mr. Potok read and enjoyed the book, and I skimmed through it again, too.
One of my favorite lines is when the dragon-lady asks Hrun, "What's your name, barbarian?"
He says, "Who are you calling a barbarian?"
"That's what I'm trying to find out!", is the reply.

RELEASE NOTES:

I left this book onboard in Cafe Navigare, amongst other English-language titles (the bookshelf by the windows nearest to the sea charts).
