Wow, I sure did get through that one quickly! I really enjoyed this book. I found it great to get inside Christopher's head, and see how things affected him. It made me understand a little better the way my friend's brother (who has Asperger's Syndrome) acts. I also loved reading about his Maths test. More books should have math and diagrams in them! Definitely a good blend of humour and sadness.

I have PMed the next reader in the list, and hope to mail this away soon.

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, sad, and educational too. Poor boy, so simple and yet brilliant. Go Christopher! Some of his mannerisms reminded me a bit of my oldest son, as he is very particular with regard to certain things as well, different foods touching on his plate, for instance. I think he would enjoy this book.

Thank you very much for sharing this book with us Lovesbooks05. I will pass it on to tish2002 shortly.

I loved this book! I'm going to get my own copy and pass it around to family and friends. I wish Mark Haddon would write more books like this. He has another book out called "A Spot of Bother". It doesn't sound as good, but I might give it a try.

Withoutwings has already read the book and asked to be skipped. I pmed the next person.
Ok, I just noticed on MandaJo's bookshelf that she wants to be skipped on any future bookrings until further notice. Moving on to the next person. lol

Quick update- I have about 60 pages left in the book and should be able to send out later this week. I PMed the next two folks on the list and they already have read the book. I will keep working down the list until I find someone to mail off to.

BTW, really enjoying this!

Just finished the book this evening. I enjoyed it- it was sad and funny and a bit heartwrenching all at the same time. Picturing that poor little boy wandering around with a rat in his pocket made me sad...

The novel reminded me of "The Last Samurai" another book with a very smart, but emotionally challenged main character who is searching for the "mysteries" that surround he and his parents' lives.

As noted above, I've checked in with the people on the list. I've contacted Nitku, but received no response yet. I will try again in a day or two and if I don't hear anything back I will be in touch with you, lovesbooks05.

Thanks!

Thank you, the book arrived today! (looks like it wasn't in a hurry..) I'll start reading right away.

Journal Entry 17 by Nitku from Akaa, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Monday, June 18, 2007
The book was very nice, and compared to Speed of Dark by Elizabeth Moon which I've read recently and also has autistic/asperger protagonist, I liked this one better. Speed of Dark made the person look more like an idiot than an individual, but here the author succeeded in making a real person of the main character.

I'll mail the book onwards when I get the address.
