From the back cover: "Muldoons Tea Rooms, beloved for its cozy atmosphere and luscious desserts, has started looking a bit outdated - and the same could be said about the proprietors, Penny and Daniel Stanley. After seventeen years, their marriage has started to fade and wear a little thin, even as their old shop bustles with the energy of the customers who seek refuge from their particular dilemmas. Perpetually dieting housewife Sadie Smith comes in to escape her husband's stick-thin mistress. Struggling artist Brenda Brown sits and pens love letters to actor Nicholas Cage. And Claire Fitzgerald returns after twenty years abroad to search for a long-lost soul mate."
This delightful story is about people's hopes and dreams, taking risks and about the wonderful changes that occur in their lives. I enjoyed it so much, I would like to make it into a ring.
Please journal the book when it arrives and again when you send it on to the next person. I would like to suggest a month within which to receive the book, read it and post it to the next in line. Enjoy!

Sorry to the rest of the group that it took me a while to get this read. It's been waiting for a few weeks now.

It was a light entertaining read. Kind of a nice, politely written book. It is predictable, a lot of the characters are quite two dimensional, but it does have a bit of charm and sometimes you just can't be doing with heavy going books.

I liked some characters better than others. To be honest, I couldn't feel much sympathy for Sadie, despite what happened. That was all a bit too cartoonish. And after you find out how much Daniel actually has stashed away in the bank.... no sympathy there!

My favourite character was Brenda. She definately grew on me. Liked the supermarket job. He he. Just a shame that she gave up painting completely. As if being creative is bad for you!

OK, on to the next person now =)

I really enjoyed this. When it arrived I was worried it might be too frothy for my taste, but I loved it. I got so involved in the stories of the various characters, all of whom are well drawn distinct characters from each other. There were moments when I could have cried for them, and others when I had to stop myself cheering. I thought Daniel's story was heartbreakingly sad in many ways. I loved Brenda Brown from Belfast town!

will be sending on ASAP

Just finished this book this morning. It was slow going because of conflicting personal things that come up when I would have rather been reading.

I found this an interesting book and liked how each of the storylines intertwined yet were stand alone as well. It was a happy ending book - too bad life isn't alwasy like that.

I will pass it on as soon as I get BooksAndJava's address.

Thanks for sharing :)
