Thank you! The postman has awoken me this morning because he has to give this book and it has been a wonderful surprise! I'm not lucky, so winning a book is great! And my English is poor and reading is the way I think I could improve it, so a book in this language is a treasure (in Spain, non-translated books are difficult to find, they sell books translated to Spanish).

Thank you very much, Jillbe: I read Girl with a pearl earring in 2005 and I enjoyed it, so I was looking for more Chevalier's works. Nowadays, I have a few bookrings waiting to be read, so The Virgin Blue will be read next month, before begin to travel.

I can read English, but I hardly can write it and I don´t speak it at all, so I enjoyed when Madama Sentier tells to Ella that she has to learn to think in French and not translating her thoughts in English, because I have the same problem when I try to express my feelings in English, I haven´t words enough to tell what I felt reading The virgin blue.

I have enjoyed this book a lot, I think I have liked it more than Girl with a pearl earring. When Etienne was counting peebles which surrounded Marie, I guessed what will happen, but I found the chimney chapter so exciting that I know what will happen, but I have to read till the end!

In Spain, when we release in the wild we said we have released the book "en la selva" (in the jungle) and I don´t want this book to be lost so soon because it has arrived to Spain from so far away that I want a longer travel for it: three bookcrosser has signed up for a bookring. They are:

1.Sorgintxu.
2.Perladelcantabrico.
3.Laurix.

I hope Jillbe will excuse me if now I write something in Spanish, it easier for me explaining a few things in my native language. Thank you very much for sending this book which I have enjoyed so much.

Gracias, Carboanion. And of course, thank you so much, jillbe :o)

Well, this was my first by Tracy Chevalier, and to be honest I must say that I didn't think much of it. Don't know, mayby I missed something, because everybody seems to love this book, but in my opinion, Isabelle's story lacks of something --and I couldn't say exactly what it is-- and Ella's story is too naive for me. I just couldn't understand her behaviour, and all her prejudices and topics about French and Swiss people got me on my nerves! Anyway, I'm glad I had the opportunity of reading this book, so I thank you all ;o)
------------------------------------

Came back home! I don´t know if I'm going to keep this book in my permanent collection or I'll try that it will travel...
