"The greatest novel of our time." Or not. You'd think if that was actually the case, I'd be able to remember at least a sliver of the plot, even if it's been 10+ years since I read it. Based on the title and author's name, back when I bought it I figured it was a novel about slavery by a writer from the American South. No, and no. And this copy is actually the abridged version of the novel, so I can't vouch for it in any way.
