I loved the "His Dark Materials" trilogy, and this was a really lovely mini-sequel. A fabricky hardback, more-or-less pocket-sized, filled with postcards and maps and programmes and timetables and pages from guidebooks, Jolly Postman-style! The story is also quite nice, but just not the same without Will. In any case, it's wonderful to see what Lyra's up to. :)

Got this in the post this morning. I'll read it as soon as I can, but all my rings have arrived at once so I apologise for any delay!

I finally managed to get round to reading this today! It's a nice short story, although it could have done with being a little bit longer. Will there be a sequal to it to explain some of the loose ends?

I've PMed scotsbookie for their address.

Arrived this morning, thank you lottiotta & Cyzaki. #3 on Mount TBR but the book I'm reading at the moment is 900 pages long so please have patience with me.

Couldn't resist bumping this up to the top of Mount TBR. A very enjoyable little story, which I agree could have benefited from being a little longer. I loved how the book looked & all the extras in it, the map, postcard, adverts, etc.

Have PM'd Pumpkin-head for their details.

This lovely little book arrived this morning and I've so far managed to resist just abandoning everything to curl up with it. I'm going to slot it into the reading pile next though to give my aching head a rest from murder, mayhem and nastiness.

Thanks!

This was a nice little read, it's like a lone chapter from the next book after the trilogy and left me desperately wanting more. I want Lyra and Will to get together again and have more adventures, and I want a daemon of my own... *stamping foot*

It was also like getting a postcard or letter from Lyra, just letting us know how she's getting on, bless her.

Have PMed Miss-R for address.

Thank you for sending this to me! It looks like a lovely book.

Well, this was nice enough, but I would have felt cheated if I'd actually bought it. It doesn't seem to add anything to the trilogy, and doesn't tell enough about Lyra's life now to justify it's existence. Maybe if it was the start of a new story I'd be less dissapointed, but as it is I felt a bit cheated by it.

Stalled

I think it's fair to say that this book is stalled now. If anyone has a replacement copy they're willing to donate that would be wonderful - I will keep my eyes open for another, too.

Fingers crossed we can get this going again!
