Thought this was a good book on how to get organised - though I've never been that untidy. Perhaps a little American at times - eg referring to Amarican products - but well worth a look.

Journal Entry 7 by Pequete from Bragança, Bragança Portugal on Tuesday, January 30, 2007
This was a great and useful read. I already put it in practice on my home office and so far I'm very happy with the results. Now I'm off to the rest of the house and the book is on its way to boirina. Thanks a lot Pakasanelly and QueenSissi.

The book left for Marcenda today.

I couldn't finish reading it. I got stuck in the psychological stuff. Sometimes I wonder how I managed to get a degree in Psychology, because I always seem to get stuck in the same place.

But I must say that the rest of the book seemed interesting enough. I didn't want to keep it too long.

Journal Entry 10 by Marcenda from Carcavelos, Lisboa (distrito) Portugal on Wednesday, March 14, 2007
Thanks, but there's no way I can read it now, too many bookrings piled up. I'll contact the nex person on the list.

Journal Entry 11 by Marcenda from Carcavelos, Lisboa (distrito) Portugal on Tuesday, March 27, 2007
I mailed it to aneca yesterday.

Journal Entry 12 by aneca on Thursday, March 29, 2007
It just arrived, thanks for sharing!

Journal Entry 13 by aneca on Tuesday, April 3, 2007
This book is much more detailed than I thought. Some parts I found interesting others made me conclude I'm not that disorganised to need one of these guides. I must confess I skimmed through most of it.

I'm emailing Marcenda next and see if she wants it back now.

Journal Entry 14 by aneca on Friday, April 20, 2007
Since Jill didn't answer any of the PMs I sent the book to keksi2 today.

Journal Entry 15 by keksi2 from Ann Arbor, Michigan USA on Monday, April 23, 2007
Arrived safely today - thanks a lot aneca for sending it!
I have already started reading it on my way home from work, and have found it very interesting so far :-)

Journal Entry 16 by keksi2 from Ann Arbor, Michigan USA on Friday, April 27, 2007
Have finished the book today, and I´m not quite sure what I think of it :-)
I guess you´d have to be *very* messy to find this of much use because so many of the tips seem so ... obvious.
There are some interesting ideas in it though, like how it always works best to adapt your organising system to your lifestyle and not the other way round.
Off to clw204 - enjoy!

Couldn't get into this - not organized enough, I guess. I've taken this book to my office where eicuthbertson will pick it up one day next week. Wish I could have got into it more, but maybe I am not yet ready to be too organized. :)

Journal Entry 21 by eicuthbertson from Burnaby, British Columbia Canada on Saturday, January 12, 2008
Good timing for me - organizing something or other is always in my New Year's Resolutions. Hope this book's ideas will help me keep up!

Journal Entry 22 by eicuthbertson from Burnaby, British Columbia Canada on Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Well there are a lot of tips in this book - yes, some are obvious - but I did find it helpful.
Basically it's 'a place for everything and everything in its place', isn't it? Grandma was right!

I do have one 'paper' area that's been driving me crazy, so I took Morgenstern's advice, made up a list of why/what/etc., found a handy drawer I can use for these files, and set up a basic system which I can adapt later if it doesn't quite work. Other areas of my 'paper' work well for me already - although they're not cute. (I like her use of patterned and coloured files - maybe later.)

The best advice for me I thought was
1. not to run out & buy new storage stuff before figuring out exactly what you want/need. More shelves don't necessarily equal fewer piles! (And, yes, I'm one of those people who knows what's in each pile - at least, until the cats cause an avalanche.)
2. to sort and purge one location of paper at a time, starting with the area you intend to use in future.

This book is being packed up today to go to NMReader in Albuquerque.
Good luck with the organizing, everyone.

Journal Entry 23 by NMReader from Herndon, Virginia USA on Wednesday, February 6, 2008
Arrived last night and propmtly left on my desk last night as I was trying to get out of the office.

Looking forward to reading. I have a few rings/rays before I can start this one.

Journal Entry 25 by wingAzukiwing from Miami, Florida USA on Wednesday, May 7, 2008
yay, book is at its last stop on the ray. Guess that means it will rest a little bit here...
Thanks all for passing the book along!

Journal Entry 26 by wingAzukiwing from Miami, Florida USA on Tuesday, June 30, 2009
I'd love for the book to use larger print to be easier on the eyes. That said, I find the information quite useful, such as the assessment in the beginning, and the acronym SPACE for sort, purge, assign a space, containerize and equalize. The computer part is, as expected, out of date, but the idea is still valid. The idea of treating time management same as space management is a novel but valid idea. I am hopeful that it will get me motivated to tidy up my place and wiser in time management!

Now mailing off to nwpassage who won this in the New Year swap, which as the name suggests, happened half a year ago! Sorry to have kept this for so long...

I read this quite some time ago, but I'm still not organized enough to journal right away lol! Some good tips, but I think the big problem for me is that just reading organization books isn't enough, I actually have to get off my butt and DO something! :) Thanks for the read tho... now Available.
