Just finished this wonderful book - couldn't put it down !

Sophie Mills has worked for Manalo Blahniks off to reach the near top of her profession. And she's happy with her priorities in life - her job, her neurotic cat Artemis & her passion for shoes. After all relationships only get in the way. And as for children ? She hasn't even begun to think about them yet. Until one day an unexpected visitor brings news of a strange inheritance & Sophie is suddenly , out of the blue, in sole charge of 2 children under age 6. But motherhod can't be that hard...can it ? Within 24 hrs her barely used Chanel no 5 bubble bath is nearly empty , her beloved flat reduced to a war zone , Artemis has taken up residence on top of the wardrobe & Sophie is in despair .... And all her unconventional mum can suggest is Dr Roberts complete dog training & care manual !!!

Determined to rise to the challenge Sophie soon realises that she will need more than a business plan to copw with all this .....

I hope u enjoy reading it as much as I did !!!

This was a lovely, lovely read that had me laughing out loud one minute, then reading with tears in my eyes the next (I am a bit of a wuss though!!).

I quickly got into the characters, and think that Sophie coped quite well considering! I did think though that she'd end up with the 'other' bloke at the end (can't say too much without spoiling LOL).

Will send this off to jedsmom in a day or too - hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!

Really enjoyed this one. I'll have to look out for some of the others that she's written

This book arrived today, thank you jedsmom. It looks intersting and is nicely on time for me to take as reading material to the Lake District on Sunday :-)

An interesting idea but a bit slow and predictable, I thought.
Overall, rather disappointing - sorry, I just didn't like it much.

Sending on to CaterinaAnna as soon as I get an address.

Arrived this morning
Thanks wilksie

Read in a day - lovely light relief after taking two weeks to read Peter Ackroyd's Dickens biography (not that that wasn't enjoyable, but it was a very different, & very long, book - shut up Caterina & get back to writing about the book in hand!)

Anyway, good enough to read again if I found a copy, but not so good that I'll add it to my 'would like a copy of my own' wish list.

Ready for calalilly now ...

I agree with katybean this was a lovely read, which once started I just wanted to carry on with and not put down. I felt so sorry for the children and Sophie did well coping with it all. Thank you for sharing it.
Have asked angellica for her address so it should be on it's way soon.

Journal Entry 13 by angellica from Worksop, Nottinghamshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, August 9, 2006

I enjoyed reading this book. It made a nice break - you can't beat a bit of fluff sometimes..

I did find it a bit predictable (I worked out the end about 1/4 of the way through)

mrspopoff got another copy from a bookbox so I posted this to katisha50 yesterday.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm in a minority as I didn't like this much. Badly edited - too long and with loads of typos/omissions. The adult characters were stereotypes, and as for the children ... the author clearly had no idea how 3- and 6-year olds talk and think (although, for the progression of the story, they needed to be ... shall we say, "advanced"). The plot rolled on entirely predictably. Now, I like a nice bit of chick-lit as much as the next chick, but this did not hit the spot.
