Do They Wear High Heels In Heaven?
10 journalers for this copy...
I have loved other books I've read by Erica Orloff and am looking forward to reading this one also! :)
This copy is reserved for EllyMae58 from a chick lit swap on bookrelay.com.
eta: What an excellent book. It was very touching, heavier than most chick lit. I wasn't at all disappointed!

Thanks for sharing AM!! I look forward to reading it!
My 11th read of 2007.
A very good read. You know the author has done her job in making you care about the characters when you bawl your eyes out at the end of the book. It was heavier than your normal chick lit book, but not so heavy as to be preachy in any way. I loved how all the people in Lily's life became this wonderful unconventional family at the end.

Going to the gal that would be Al's. :)
Received in the mail today!
I really loved this book. It wasn't your normal chick lit but wasn't depressing or too heavy either. I knew from the beginning what the ultimate outcome would be but getting there was great. Reading this book made me think about living life to the fullest and cherishing the little things. It's not too often that chick-lit makes you think, now let's just see if I can take that lesson to heart.
Thanks for sharing Kel! I'm sending this one off to my May Day partner from BookObsessed.com

I'm Lily, a New York newspaper columnist, mother of two, divorcee of one and partner in crime to Michael, English professor, novelist and best friend extraordinaire. We've been friends forever -- well, since I nearly burned down our apartment building while trying to cook. Michael and I have weathered disco, bad fashion, bad perms, bad boyfriends -- for both of us -- my failed marriage, parenthood and writer's block. Laughter has helped -- and so have the martinis.
But now we face our biggest challenge: the C word. And if I have my way, Michael will be giving up his freewheeling bachelor ways and settling down once and for all. Because I have some very specific wishes for who should take over parental duty when I'm gone. Of course, I refuse to take this lying down -- even when the doctors tell me to lie down and shut up. Because although I'm sick, I'm determined to wear my high heels and lipstick. I'm gonna look good or die trying, dammit.
I really enjoyed this book - an easy read, no real surprises, pretty well done for some more serious subject matter. I was pleased I had this on my wishlist based on failing to grab it in a couple of swaps! Now to find someone to pass it on to..... thinking about this, will JE when decided!

Received for my Miss August EuroExchange parcel - thanks so much Giz.
I'm sending this off on my postal book group - will read it on it's return! Heading off to Barefootmum first.
Arrived safely earlier this week. Thanks.
An easy read. Good enough to make me want to read to the end but not a classic!
Now sending on to Anfield.

A bit predictable and soppy for me I'm afraid... though it was quick!

A quick read, not too taxing but with more to think about than your average chic-lit.

A quick easy read, that reminded me of my New Year's resolution to redo our wills! Oh, and to look into mamograms! My mother and grandmother both had breast cancer and I am not sure that breastfeeding five children will totally mitigate my risk!
Sening on to Camis soon.

Received home safely - I'll have to get round to reading it now!
Good to read some chick lit with a bit more substance! Made me think about a lot of things (not least the need to make a will). May have been a quick read, but I really enjoyed it.
