The Back of the Book
Marion Zimmer Bradley, one of the most beloved and praised fantasy storytells of our time, has once again written a compelling and powerful novel with larger-than-life characters.
Winter Musgrave's past is largely blank, her memories missing or tissue-thin. She seems to be possessed - objects shatter when she passes, the corpses of animals appear on her doorstep. And she has the terrible feeling that something horrible happened in her empty past - results of which are now haunting her with unbridled fury.
Seeking help, Winter turns to Truth Jourdemayne and learns that the key to unlocking her lost memories lies within herrself - and in the magickal circle of friends in college. But the circle was broken long ago. Winter must reconstruct it if she is to save her life.
Not just the story of a woman's search for her missing past, Witchlight is a powerful novel of contemporary fantasy that pulls readers inand holds them until the final page. Anyone who loves good conteporary fiction will devour Witchlight.

This Book arrived safely in amongst the Christmas cards. Laura is my favourite person when it comes to 'rings', she has such good taste!
On the back of the book it mentions a predecessor, Ghostlight. Now I'm fretting about not having read that first as I have a 'thing' about reading books in order, but I will try to put that to one side and read this book, I can always read the other one after.

The Mists of Avalon by Zimmer Bradley is my number one favourite book of all time, I've read it several times and will read it again but if it weren't for her name on the front cover of this book, I would never had thought it was by the same author! The main character, Winter, I could have cheerfully smacked round the head. She just isn't a very nice person and even though she has lots of paranormal activity around her she just keeps on and on denying what's happened to her, tedious.
I found the story s-l-o-w and don't get me started on the names of some of the characters, most of whom are called things like 'Truth', 'Grey' and 'Lion'..a tad pretentious I thought. In case you hadn't guessed, I personally, didn't enjoy this book - sorry!
Will contact the next person for their address.

Collected this this morning; apparently it has been languishing at the sorting office for over a week! (Sorry people - they didn't tell me).
Looking forward to reading this (or rather I was until I read RubyBlueLady's journal - lol). Will start immediately as I've just finished my last book.
Thank you.
Iris/Elestr:)
