What a brilliant book, one of the best I have read this year. At the beginning I wasn't too sure, I thought it was going to be one of those books that never really tell a story. But what a story it told.
Daniel Sempere takes The Shadow of the Wind from the Cemetery of Forgotten Books, he is 10 years old but he cannot put the book down and reads it in one night. Daniel then becomes obsessed with the mysterious author, Julian Carax. Daniel's search into Julian's background and wanting to find out what happened to the man leads the reader on a fantastic journey through mystery and gothic thriller to romance and contemporary fiction.
Excellent book!!!!
