Anticipate this to be very good and I guess, better than the movie. Read Get Shorty and we{ll see how this compares.

And it was, although haven't seen the flick yet. Fun read and gives you a lot of insight into the record and movie biz. Great characters and dialogue as always.

Ok, so I gather that this is the sequel to a book called "Get Shorty", that's probably why I felt was missing bits.
It's a fast story about an ex mafia guy turned into movie director, now turning into a music producer.
He tries to build a movie making certain situations happen and seeing where they lead. It feels, sometimes, that the book was written the same way.
I read there`s a movie about it, and I am not surprised, it has a kind of fast t.v. language and action.

As usual Leonard delivers the goods.
This time with a great insight into the music industry and bit of the movie industry too... and industry is really the operating word here, it's almost like a meat processing factory... but I digress.
Leonard's novels always have the coolest dialogues and this one is no different, great characters and plenty of small plots make this boook a well worth fast paced story for a cool weekend.
I'v seen the movie and it falls short of the book, as usual, but if there's an actor for the Chili Palmer character it's Travolta for sure and this story thrives on Chili's personality and drive, very cool indeed.
I recommend this book, one of the best by Leonard and that is saying a lot considering this is the coollest guy writting about underground and seedy characters around.
