From the back cover:

Miles Ryan's life seemed to end the day his wife was killed in a hit-and-run accident two years ago. As deputy sheriff of New Bern, North Carolina, he not only grieves for her and worries about their young son Jonah but longs to bring the unknown driver to justice. Then Miles meets Sarah Andrews, Jonah's second-grade teacher. A young woman recovering from a difficult divorce, Sarah moved to New Bern hoping to start over. Tentatively, Miles and Sarah reach out to each other...soon they are falling in love. But what neither realizes is that they are also bound together by a shocking secret, one that will force them to reexamine everything they believe in - including their love.

Just finished this book and I got a good cry out of it!!! It took me awhile to figure out who was actually driving the car!!! This was a great story...sad and happy mixed together. I love Nicholas Sparks!!!

This book will be on it's way to heartsong2 shortly!!!

Journal Entry 4 by heartsong2 on Monday, April 17, 2006
Arrived today! I love the book plate. Haven't seen that particular one before. Thanks for sending the book along!

Finished reading today. A nice light read compared to the way life has been lately. Sparks always comes up with a good, sentimental story. Sometimes his use of "had" verbage makes me a little crazy, but it was a pleasant read none-the-less. Thank you for sharing.

Have collectorkerri's address and will post this coming Wednesday, 4/26.

Update: posted 4/26/06.

Only took two days to arrive! By happy coincidence, I just finished a book yesterday, so I should be able to start this tomorrow.

"Pleasant but Predictable" would be the headline if I was writing a book review. I enjoyed the story, but saw the ending coming, and I'm usually oblivious to those sorts of things. This is the first Nicholas Sparks that I've read, although I've seen two movies based on his books.

Sent on today to erinf31.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

I mailed 'A Bend in the Road' to Summerbreeze. It should be there tomorrow or the next day. Enjoy! I enjoyed the book. There was a lot of romance at the start and then half way through the mystery starts to unfold.

I just got this in the mail today...I am one book behind schedule, but it is a fast read. I should be able to get this one done in the one month time frame. I can hardly wait to read it.

I loved this story, I couldn't put it down in the past two days, I just had to find out who drove the car. I almost skipped ahead to find that out then go back to reading it...I resisted the urge. I love Spark's books, they are so good. I am also happy with the ending, I think I would have been depressed if it didn't end the way it did.

Time to send it off to the next person.

Journal Entry 12 by NeedSun from Perth Road, Ontario Canada on Tuesday, August 8, 2006
This book arrived while I was on vacation. I will just say today is the day for tracking purposes.

Thank you for sending it to me. I am very much looking forward to reading it.

Journal Entry 13 by NeedSun from Perth Road, Ontario Canada on Monday, August 21, 2006
What a lovely story. Yes, it was predictable but the way the characters worked through their emotions was pretty gripping.

Thank you so much Summerbreeze for sending this book to me. I hope you are feeling better. And thanks to you both, efs300 and lisabb2, for giving me the opportunity to read my first book by Nicholas Sparks.

This book was sent by air to hetku77 on August 19.

27.8. The book arrived by mail on Friday, thank you NeedSun! I have a few rings to read before this one, as I've moved twice in past 3 months...

1.12. I finished the book yesterday. It was typical story by Sparks; sweet and innocent in a way. Though I have to say I found the story a bit too predictive. It was obvious that the person who caused the death of Miles's wife had to be some one Sarah knew. Despite that the story was quite good and entertaining. The book will be sent to the next person once I have her address.

5.12. I wasn't able to reach Hellie either by pm or email, so the book was sent to Dinkie today.

Journal Entry 15 by Dinkie from Sunderland, Tyne and Wear United Kingdom on Friday, December 8, 2006
Arrived in the post today, I'm really looking forward to reading this and will pass it on to Hellie when I've read it as I see her often. Thanks lisabb2 for giving me the chance to read it.

Journal Entry 16 by Dinkie from Sunderland, Tyne and Wear United Kingdom on Monday, January 22, 2007
I really enjoyed this book although I guessed who was driving the car quite early on, but still the book did not disappoint! This book is really easy to read with very likeable characters.

Will pass the book on to Hellie on Thursday.
