The book is a a true story about the disaster at Mount Everest in which 8 people died. It is a recount of the authors experiences at Mount Everest. For those of us who have never been mountain climbin it gives a real insight into how physically and mentally exhausting it can be.
it also makes you realise that no matter how safely you plan for something, there are always those factors that are out of your control which can makes things go wrong.
