Picked up to fulfill a wish for my NSSEB '06 partner.

A story based on the ancient enmity between dwarves and trolls, encompassing Discworld history, a murder mystery and parental love. A good read but perhaps a little less ‘laugh out loud’ than some of Pratchett’s books and somewhat lacking in pace. When the action does hot up, for instance during the invasion of Vimes’s house, the story crackles along at an excellent rate. Old friends appeared again, Vimes, Sybil, Angua, Carrot and Detritus - and I did like the new character of Brick, the troll.

To fully appreciate Thud! I think you have to read it at the same time as ‘Where’s My Cow?’ as this adds new depths to the story :-)

I'm having to declutter my bookshelves so some of my PC books must go.
'Thud!' will be left on the Diabetes UK table at my local Tesco.
