 I can only say good things about the Anne of Green Gables series. I first read these when I was a young woman and strongly identifed with Anne, her struggles and her amazing ability to get herself into some fix or another.
Gifting this book as an RABCK. Wishing it a lovely new home with a reader who could grow to love Anne.

This one was a little more enjoyable than the last one, although none so far have come close to the original 'Anne of Green Gables'.
I like how this one was broken up between story, and letters from Anne to Gilbert. And, as with the other novels the new characters were just as lovable as everyone I've met so far in Anne's world.
I'm excited to read the next one~ There has been quite the build up of Anne and Gilbert's 'House of Dreams' in this last chapter of Anne's life.
As I am now halfway through the series, I'm going to start offering positions in the ring... Although I might cut down the number from 9 positions, as these books haven't gone as fast as I had thought.

Most of the conflict seems to be resolved early on and the situation with Elizabeth and her father is wrapped up almost too nicely. Still, another nice book about Anne.

I received this entire series today and have already started the first book. I have always been curious about these books because my younger sister, who DOES NOT read, actually read and enjoyed this series when we were younger. Thanks day-zee for sharing them with us!

I have tried a couple of times to read the first book in this series, but the whole set has some type of incense oil or fragrance on them. It smells good and I am sure there were good intentions behind putting fragrance on the books, but I get a headache every time I try to read them. I have SEVERE allergies to fragrances and get migraines from perfumes and chemicals.
I decided that I don't want to deal with the whole fragrance in the books issue right now, so I'm sending this series on to the next reader, princess-peapod. I am disappointed because I was really looking forward to reading these books. I have seen copies of some of them in thrift stores since signing up for this bookring, so maybe I will come across more copies and read them later. It did seem from the little that I was able to read (before getting a headache) that I may enjoy them. I hope the next reader doesn't have allergies and migraines like I do so the fragrance will not bother them.
