Really interesting autobiography from Irma Kurtz, who vividly describes her adult life in London (plus other travels), her jobs, her love life, her son Marc. I love that she loves London and its Londoners, our way of apologising constantly, our expectation that things will go wrong! Nice read :-)
Being sent on a secret RABCK mission to a bookcrosser who loves london :-)

I did not expect any book. So when I opened my letter box, I thought it was something for my brother. Read my name, wondering what it was. Read your name, thinking that I didn't remember a) expecting a ring from you and b) ever giving you my address (still wondering if I ever did or whether you used other sources). Opened the package to find a book with the word "London" on the title, brought an instant smile to my face. :-D
Looked more closely at the package: some fine chocolate and a tea bag. Do I have to add that the chocolate is no more? ;-)
Thank you so much! I wonder why you thought of me when you saw this book, though. ;-))

Finished it. It was a lovely book.
For the first 120 or so pages, I wasn't really interested in the authors personal life. Only the bits about London made me read on. Afterwards her life became interesting as well. So in the end I liked both aspects of it.
I really enjoyed the wayy she described London's parts as they were in the 60ies and 70ies and also the whole character of the city in comparison with cities such as Paris, New York or LA.
I think I will re-read parts of this book at a later stage.
