I still need to read this book
The Cooks own thousand acres of farmland in Iowa. Farmland that has been passed down and grown from generation to generation. From the outside, the family appears to be a cohesive unit with the sons-in-law working alongside their wives' father. With one decision the father makes in the heat of the moment, everything changes. The perceived reality is filled with dark family secrets. The trust that once appeared to be strong is now brittle and cracking. Now it is every family member for him/herself.
Once you pick this book up, you become one of the family and you don't want to let them go.

Arrived in the mail today. Thanks Aberpeter!
Not only is this the story of a family that has been farming in Iowa for multiple generations. It also tells the story of a dysfunctional family that appears normal to those on the outside. Family secrets and repressed memories come to light and each family member deals with what has been revealed in their own way.

I leave a book in the lobby almost every time I get my favorite salad. Enjoy!
