I ordered this book because the author is Nigerian and I'm trying to read books by authors from every country. Also, I'd heard it recommended as a particularly good book. But imagine my amusement when I read the "About the Author" section in the back of the book and the last paragraph indicates that Mr. Achebe is (as of this printing) teaching at Bard College which is just about 40 minutes drive from my house.

Since Chinua Achebe identifies and has won awards as a Nigerian writer, I will still count him toward my goal. I just think it's funny that he was in my own backyard.

9 out of 10

I enjoyed this book a lot. It's a slim book - almost more of a novella than a full novel.

Picked this up from my mailbox yesterday, although it may have been sitting there for quite some time.

Thank you for sharing this, hobbit. I look forward to reading it. (Your trade is in the mail).
