Wonderful storyline - fictional story of an event that actually happened in 1666. What begins as a tale of despair, the plague, loss of love and family, and death ends up with our heroine finding hope. She emerges more powerful and self confident - she overcomes social and religious mores that would keep a weaker woman subserviant. She struggles to understand religion and science, an age old dilemma. She finds that while she may not have faith, she does have hope.
