The book talks about how small things can produce huge results. And how a few people can make a huge difference. Bookcrossing is a great example of what the book is all about.

Was a really interesting book. Looks at how trends get started in ways that never really crossed my mind before. It's amazing the huge difference little things can make and how our environment affects us. I have Breeze144's address and hope to get the book out Monday. Thanks so much to booklady331 for sharing!!

Journal Entry 13 by Breeze144 from Ajax, Ontario Canada on Tuesday, July 04, 2006
I have had this book for nearly a month and I'm stll only half way through it. Its not totally holding my attention so in the next couple days I may decide to give up and send it along. Please be assured this book will travel soon! Jul 5 - Okay I give up. This book is alot like Freakonomics; very similar topics, although slightly different point of view. I enjoyed Freakonomics, but I'm not enjoying this. I don't know if it is the writing style or what...anyway, I'll send this along to Stardustnf this week.

I received this in the mail a couple of days ago, and I'm really looking forward to reading it (I've already read "Blink", and I loved it.) I'll journal again when I've finished reading.

Journal Entry 16 by stardustnf from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador Canada on Saturday, November 18, 2006
I enjoyed this book (though not as much as I enjoyed Blink). It opens your eyes to the way that things happen, how the everyday things around us influence the direction that the world takes. I found it especially interesting due to my working at an ad agency....these ideas are things that many of the people I work with take for granted (they are theories they put into practice all the time when trying to influence the consumer market), but maybe never have actually seen it put into words this way. A good read. Sorry to have held onto it for so long...a minor life crisis made me put everything else on hold for a while. This book is now on its way to gothmarcus in the UK. Hope you enjoy it!! Thanks, booklady331, for sharing this one with us!

Journal Entry 18 by Vroomfondel from Leeds, West Yorkshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, December 27, 2006
There is so much that is fascinating about this book: the story of the work behind the scenes for Sesame Street and Blue's Clues was really interesting, as was the work done on the New York subway, with their zero tolerance policy on graffiti and fare-dodging in order to reduce other crimes on the network. The figures stood out; the fact that the upper practical size of groups is around 150, as demonstrated by the company behind Goretex. If the group gets bigger, then split it into two. The figures on drug abuse are also interesting... how like with any addiction, the vast majority who have tried cocaine and heroin actually aren't addicted, and how a lot of it is to do with a person's personality. Updated 28 December: On its way to Brendio

Journal Entry 19 by Brendio from Bundaberg, Queensland Australia on Sunday, March 18, 2007
I enjoyed the numerous case studies and how various details of these cases were revealed as the author built his case. Some interesting points to think about...

How little things make a big difference.... Wow, a few extra little sticky pieces of paper on the envelope and that book literally FLEW over the ocean! It arrived in less than a week! Thanks Brendio. And thank you, booklady331 for organizing the bookring. I enjoyed his book Blink, so I've been looking forward to this one.

I found this book really interesting. The examples in it were fascinating. It was particularly interesting to me because I work for a university that's trying to run itself like a business and seems to be getting away from the very things that could increase student enrollment and improve staff morale. I'll be sending this off to the next on the list tomorrow.

This is kinda funny ... I bought this book for the booklady331 in March 2006 as part of the Birthday RABCK. Within the next few months, she PMed me and asked if I would like to be a part of this bookring. I just received it in the mail this week. I'm finishing up another book, so I will get to this as soon as I can.

Journal Entry 29 by Quez45 from Oak Ridge, New Jersey USA on Sunday, February 24, 2008
This is actually the third time that I have had this book in my possession. The first time was when I gave it to booklady331 since she is my RABCK Birthday Buddy. The second time was when I had it as part of this ring, but was unable to get to it in time. Now I finally have it again. I'm excited to get to this one since I have heard several good things about it!

This was a very practical social observation made by Gladwell. I love to see inspirational works such as this that identify simply ways that people can make a difference. I guess this concludes this bookring. Back home to booklady331! Thanks for sharing!
