I have Egger's 'You Shall Know Our Velocity' on my TBR shelf at the moment, but I thought I would try this collection of his short stories first. Overall, I'm impressed with his style which suits his stories quite well (or is that that other way around). Eggers writes, in the main, about american Gen-Xers leading (to me, at any rate) rather detached lives which his understated yet evocative prose illustrates quite well. At times though, I wished that some of the characters would show a bit more gusto for life. I was rewarded in my wish by the very last story - but there the character was a special one.
