Synopsis for The Tao Of Pooh (from the publisher):
The Tao of Pooh has become a classic philosophical study of Winnie-the-Pooh. Winnie-the-Pooh has a certain way about him, a way of doing things which has made hom the world's most beloved bear. And Pooh's Way, as Benjamin Hoff brilliantly demonstrates, seems strangely close to the ancient Chinese principles of Taoism. With examples from A.A. Milne's popular classics Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, Benjamin Hoff explains the principles of Taoist philosophy.

Synopsis for The Te of Piglet (from the publisher):
In this sequel to The Tao of Pooh, author Benjamin Hoff explores the Te: a Chinese word meaning Virtue - a principle perfectly embodied by Piglet. A sdelightful as it is instructive, The Te of Piglet features dialogues between the author and the familiar characters of Pooh, Eeyore, Owl, Kanga and Baby Roo, and of course, Piglet himself. These conversations are interspersed with traditional Taoist stories and more than 50 illustrations from the original Pooh books.

About the author:
Benjamin Hoff is a writer, a photographer, musician and composer, and a specialist in Japanese fine-pruning, with a degree in Asian Art. He writes full-time. In his spare time he practices Taoist yoga and T'ai Chi Ch'uan. He lives in Portland, Oregon.

10 out of 10

The Tao Of Pooh:
This is one amazing little book! I bought this copy for my PC after participating in the Ray hosted by Maurean.

This book is so calm, simple and inspiring I wanted to start reading it again as soon as I finished it! I started writing down quotes from the book but there were so many of them that I ended up copying most of the book, that's why I decided to get a copy of my own:)

This book really can change your life, it's so uplifting! What's really interesting when you read the reviews for this book here on BC is how everyone identifies with a different chapter from the book, a different character. The book really has something to offer to each and everyone of us, it echoes our own personal experiences. My favorite chapters must be "Cottleston Pie" and "Nowhere and nothing", even though making a choice is really hard!

This is a wonderful book, probably one of the best I've ever read!

The Te of Piglet:
Hmm, I've just finished reading this book and I really don't know what to think about it... It is really different from The Tao of Pooh and more of a diatribe against industry, business, government, Western culture, the military, feminists, etc. Actually, I found that it had little to do with philosophy and Taoism and I sometimes felt I was reading an environmentalist rant. The Tao of Pooh was such an uplifting read for me that I really have a hard time figuring out what I thought of The Te of Piglet. I can't even bring myself to rate this book since I can't figure out if I liked it or not...Odd! I can't wait to read what others have to say about it:)

Today morning my post-lady waked me up. It was an early call – asking me to go and pick up my post from the office, as it is too much! Just Great beginning of my before the last day at 29!

This is how the Pooh & Piglet arrived to me. “The Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet” is coming just after I’ve finished the Milne’s “Now we are three” poetry book. Perfect! I'm going to read it and post here again, upon releasing, actually sending it to Portugal.

Wish us (the book and me) happy month in Bulgaria. Most probably we will travel a bit here.
Thank you for having me on this ray,
Lillya

10 out of 10

Posting The Book tomorrow, Monday 11th September, 2006 to boirina in Portugal.

Thank you for sharing this Book with me! It was good to read it. I enjoy it all. There are interesting thoughts and some really normal, but somehow 'not-coming' in our (my) everyday bits of wisdom. “The Tao of Pooh” was fun to read and easier in general. ”The Te of Piglet” seems more 'serious' reading, with more thoughts and references to other events and authors.

Well, I am not good explaining… I enjoyed the Book very much! I would say it is a good book and a good reading. "The Tao of Pooh and The Te of Piglet" ‘caught’" me at the right time! Hope, it will arrive there to you in your ‘right time’. You must read it and you’ll know how it will work with you. Enjoy! And I'll go to check some Charles Dickens' writings, Lillya

I'm halfway through but tomorrow I'll send it over to the next person on the list, and the book will go to my wish list. I would really like to finish it, but I can't keep it any longer. I've been delayed by the trip to take care of my dad in hospital and I seem to have come back to a very busy home.
I loved what I read of the book, and I don't think it's the kind of book one can hurry through... I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I have.

Was surprised to find this on the doorstep this morning. Thanks Borina for sending it on and to Chich for sharing.

I have a few before this one and have a lot on personally so will try to get to it or will move it on before completeing it - as my predecessor had to do!

Sorry it has taken me so long to move this one on. LIfe is hectic and I am going to have to admit defeat and send it to the next BXer without reading it. I have put it on my wishlist as I think it would be better suited to my permenant collection.

I am sending it to ScottishHoosier and hope it gets there this year!

Thanks Chich to introducing me to this cool book.

Happy Holidays to All.

This book has not been rated.

I was wondering why I haven't seen this book yet, and I found the envelope buried in a bunch of to-do paperwork. My only guess is it came when I wasn't home and hubby (or maybe even one of the lil' uns) added it to the stack. I am truly sorry. It did make it safe and sound, but I have no idea how long it has been here.

Thank you to BabyFlyLady for the Christmas card, too!

I have a couple of other bookrings to read, so it might be a little while. Must read more, must read more....

7 out of 10

I really enjoyed the Tao of Pooh. I felt I learnt something and had something to ponder. The Te of Piglet was a struggle. But then, maybe it is because the author has decided to take up the fight against American (and Western) excesses. In the chapter The Day of Piglet, he goes into a right ol' rant. He is right about many things, we aren't treating the earth and its inhabitants properly, and our *leaders* are certainly leading the way in this. But somehow, it wasn't so nice and easy to read.

I have the next address, so will try to post the book this afternoon.

Thank you for sharing, chich!

Journal Entry 18 by lostbookisland on Wednesday, October 24, 2007

This book has not been rated.

This book has washed ashore at the Lost Book Island after not being heard from for many months. This new arrival will be shown to a room and be allowed a bit of rest before being introduced to the many fun things to do here at the island.

All around there are books sipping cool drinks under shady palms while other books participate in a wide variety of beach sports. There is plenty of sand, surf and sun here for all of the lost and wayward books to enjoy.

It is hoped that very soon a new journal entry will come to rescue this book from the island and send it back out into the BookCrossing world so that it may continue on its journey. It is hoped that the new journal entry will tell all the interested parties where this book has been this long time and where it will be traveling to next.
