some of this is very out of date! LOL but it is a good read, and something to dip into. reminds me a bit of the New Scientist's Q&A books... great stuff! will re-release at next meetup!

loved: the bit about barber's signs/surgeons, the origin of words e.g. weekdays, Loki's role in the unlucky nature of 13 guests etc. i learnt some new things!

I'm giving this a ten for all the childhood memories is brought back, firstly of 'How' but also, linked by Jack Hargreaves who conceived both programmes, to 'Out of Town' - a great series broadcast on the Southern TV network during my formative years.

Couldn't resist this as grew up with "How" in the Seventies. Interesting to remember how life was before computers and mobile phones - makes me feel old!
