Black Notice

This book, featuring Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, is similar to the other novels featuring her. She, investigative cop Marino, and her brilliant FBI niece Lucy are under a huge amount of pressure while trying to solve a series of murders. I am in 2 minds about Patricia Cornwell. While she creates brilliant characters, especially Scarpetta as a very driven high achiever ... the crimes are hideously gruesome and quite disgusting. I appreciate that to a certain extent this is necessary to create a truly frightening villain, but basically while I appreciated reading the story I don't want to keep it on my bookshelf. PM me if you'd like to read it.
