WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
Found at the Goodwill on Texoma Pkwy. shortly after it was left by the previous reader (3/2006). I enjoyed the book though it is different from the usual type books I read. I feel that I am old enough and grew up poor enough to understand it. We were not sharecroppers, but my grandparents were. We did raise a large garden (no cotton) and 2 pigs for the winter. We lived on the same kind of diet as the family in the book. We had no indoor toilet, but did have pumped water to the kitchen. My Dad and Mom built our house themselves in rural Louisiana and it was never completed inside but was shingled outside. I experienced the isolation, but was a middle child of 6.
